Ways You Can Make Your Braces Less Noticeable

It’s tough to feel confident about your smile if you have braces. After all, you’re used to the feeling of smooth, straight teeth. Now, your mouth is full of sharp metal that can make it difficult to eat, talk, and feel like yourself! The orthodontist hawthorn can be of great help in providing you with great tips. However, there are some ways that you can still smile with confidence while wearing braces and be on your way back to a great smile.

Wear your retainer

If you have been wearing a retainer, you probably know that it is a plastic device that is worn at night to hold your teeth in place. Your orthodontist hawthorn will give the retainer to you after your braces are removed. It is important to wear your retainer every night for several months after the removal of your braces. If you don’t wear it, the wires and brackets may come back into contact with each other and cause irritation or damage to your teeth.

To keep track of when it’s time to replace your retainers (you usually get one per year), write down the month and year on the inside of each one before wearing it for the first time (so if it says “November 2016” on the inside front surface, then that means it needs replacing by November 2017).

Smile with confidence

There are some simple things you can do to make your smile more attractive.

  • Smile with the mouth closed.
  • Smile with the lips closed.
  • Smile with your eyes, cheeks and teeth all engaged in a smile at the same time.
  • Use a mirror and practise smiling at yourself as often as possible!

Choose the right colour

When it comes to choosing the right colour for your braces, the best advice is to avoid bright colours and stick with ones that match your skin tone. Braces are already a big change in your life—you don’t want them to stand out even more when you’re trying to fit in. Here’s a list of colours not to wear:

  • Red, blue, or purple—These shades can make teeth look discoloured and dingy. Instead, choose warm browns (like taupe) or greys that help camouflage any redness or yellowness on teeth.
  • White—White is a little too distracting if you’re trying not to draw attention away from other things going on around you! Stick with muted shades like peach, beige, and dusty rose instead because they’ll blend right into your outfit without being too noticeable at first glance; just make sure not to be too much contrast between what’s underneath those brackets so as not to hinder their effectiveness later down the road once everything else has grown back properly after being removed completely during treatment process itself.”

Don’t play head games

So, you have braces. You’re wearing them for a reason—to correct your teeth’ beauty and make them look better. But when it comes down to it, your mouth is just a part of who you are—your smile is just as much an expression of who you are as any other part of your body or face.

And that’s why I’m telling you not to play head games: because if we start treating our mouths differently than other parts of our bodies and faces, then that can affect how we treat ourselves in general. So don’t be afraid to smile; don’t be afraid to talk to people; don’t be afraid to laugh; don’t be afraid to eat (hard foods are totally fine); enjoy life (having fun will keep things from getting tense), and get mad (anger helps us express ourselves).

Conclusion

From choosing the right colour to wearing your retainer, there are a lot of ways you can make your braces less noticeable. Just don’t play head games and assume people will only be looking at your mouth
